Fairwind Hotel, 1000-1030 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida
Originally constructed in 1936, the Fairwind Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel, was located in heart of South Beach and consisted of a three-property hotel at 1000, 1020 and 1030 Collins Ave. Oceanside Resorts partnered with Architect Allan Shulman to combine exciting new architecture with irreplaceable historic Art Deco era buildings and elements.
The property housed a 9,400 square feet world-class indoor/outdoor restaurant, and a modern 5-story building adjoined the Fairwind creating a dynamic courtyard, which allowed the restaurant’s bar patrons to enjoy additional outdoor seating during climate weather.
The new Fairwind Hotel was to feature 79 guest rooms including six townhouse suites. Other hotel amenities included a 900 square foot penthouse suite with rooftop deck, a rooftop tanning deck and splash pool, room and poolside service, concierge service, valet parking, and wireless internet throughout the property. The property was sold in 2010 to CG Fairwinds LLC, a Joseph Chetrit-managed company.
